Hot Stone Reflexology

spiral of stones

The ancient healing art of Reflexology combined with the placement of hot or warm stones deeply relaxes the body and effectively brings a feeling of harmony to body and mind.

Heat from the basalt stones brings relaxation at a deeper level while the introduction of stones such as amethyst, moonstone and golden topaz is designed to calm, balance or re-energise.

The warmth of heated, smooth and carefully chosen volcanic stones is used to enhance the reflexology treatment by placing or gently moving the stones on or over reflex points.

This ultimately relaxing treatment starts with the application of warmed nourishing and therapeutic oils such as apricot kernel, almond, jojoba or coconut to the feet and lower legs.

Reflexology uses the hands to assess the reflex points on the feet that relate to the rest of the body. Only when it's known whether areas need to be stimulated or relaxed are the stones applied.

Heat can be applied to the corresponding area of the body during the treatment. For example by applying wrapped hot stones to the shoulder muscles.

Cold or cool stones may also be used to great benefit if you wish.

Although stones which are obviously hard and unfeeling are used, like any Gentle Touch Reflexology treatment there is no pain or discomfort involved. The hands, fingers and thumbs make contact first and the stones are then used to stroke and bring gentle targeted heat.

Another benefit of Hot Stone Reflexology is that there is no need to undress; just bare feet with lower legs to the knees being optional.

This is a blissfully relaxing treatment that is designed to make you feel relaxed and good all-over. If you have never tried Reflexology before you may be surprised at just how relaxing to the whole body and psyche it can be. If you have not yet experienced Hot Stone Reflexology then be prepared for relaxation at a whole new level.

Please be reassured that the heating of the stones is temperature controlled and stones are never introduced directly to the skin straight from the heater.
