Reiki Healing, Attunements and Teaching
What is Reiki?
Reiki, (pronounced 'ray key') is a Japanese word meaning Universal Life Energy. Rei = Universal, Ki = life energy. Although Reiki can be a very sacred experience no spiritual or religious beliefs or faith are necessary to receive it, just an open mind and the will for healing and change. Reiki is received by the practitioner drawing in healing energy and then gently directing it to the patient.
What Happens at an Appointment?
After a short consultation the Reiki is received, fully clothed (with the removal of shoes only for comfort), while relaxing on a couch, while reclined or simply seated as you prefer.
Reiki is given by placing the hands on or over the body. It can be comforting to receive the healing at the site of discomfort but the energy is taken-in and used where it is most needed.
What Does Reiki Feel Like?
Some people notice a feeling of warmth, tingling sensations or a gentle feeling of waves of energy, while others are aware of certain colours, their emotions or thoughts. Each experience is unique and will be right for you on your healing journey.
Who can benefit from a Reiki Treatment?
The treatments are suitable for anyone at any age and as there is no physical movement involved it can be suitable even for the very frail. Plants, animals and situations can also receive Reiki.
How long is a treatment?
The length of each appointment is 1 hour.
Can anyone do Reiki?
Some people have a natural affinity for healing who may use their own energy or may channel it but in order to heal with Reiki a special Attunement and teaching from a Reiki Master is needed. Reiki is taught in 3 stages; First and Second Degree then Masters with additional teaching to become a Reiki Master Teacher. During the teaching a method of tuning the mind and body into Reiki energy is learnt, this sacred ceremony is called an Attunement.
Reiki Attunements
Level I or 'First Degree' Reiki
Training is one day plus another half day at a later stage when you need it. No prior learning is required and Level 1 is suitable for anyone wishing to further their own healing and help friends and family. After training you will be able to self-treat and with some further practice give a full Reiki treatment to others. The day is flexibly structured and is typically as follows;
- 10.00am
- Why are we here / quality of life
- History of Reiki
- First Attunement
- The 5 Principles of Reiki
- Second Attunement
- 1.00pm
- Lunch break
- 2.00pm
- Contra-indications
- Third, final Attunement
- Practising Reiki - hand positions, self-treatments
- About Reiki Level II
The follow-on half-day is to allow students to gain additional practice and knowledge once the new energy of the attunement has 'sunk in' - questions and queries will come up once you have experienced giving and receiving Reiki. I teach Level I one to one or in a small group up to 4 people.
Maps and information can be supplied on local B&B or hotel accommodation if required.
Price includes refreshments, manual and certificate.
Level II or 'Second Degree' Reiki
Training is over two days and is suitable for those who have already attained Level I training either with me or with another Reiki Master and wishing to continue their own healing or become a Practitioner. Level II brings a new dimension to the practice of Reiki with the use of sacred symbols enabling distance healing.
Again, flexibly structured days covering;
- Discussion of our experience of Reiki
- Recap of the 5 principles
- learning the three symbols
- attunement
- their meanings and how to use them
- giving a treatment and distance treatment
- other ways of using Reiki
- a look at energy systems - chakras, meridians, auras
- practise set-up
- should we charge for Reiki?
- about Reiki Level III - Master and Master-Teacher
Again, when Level II has 'sunk in' questions and queries may arise and I'll do my best to answer them. You may wish to return to see me for additional training or practice, this can be done on an 'exchange' basis - a swap of my time for your time giving a treatment.
Maps and information can be supplied on local B&B or hotel accommodation if required.
Price includes refreshments, manual and certificate.
Reiki Master Training
is done over two days with the option of doing another day to do Reiki Master Teacher training. This is suitable for those who have received levels I and II attunement either from me or another Reiki Master (evidence of attunement is required) and who now wish to further their own healing and spiritual development and may want to attune others.
A fourth symbol is introduced raising the energy levels further. We will cover;
- recap of Levels I and II
- what are our Reiki Experiences, moving on?
- a look at Angel breath / psychic surgery
- giving a healing attunement
- preparing a room for healing with Reiki
- using Reiki with other healing
- discuss Reiki Master teacher training
Again, when Reiki Master level has 'sunk in' questions and queries may arise and I'll endeavour to answer them. You may also find Reiki Refreshers And Sharing may be helpful and I'll add dates for these throughout the year, please contact me to find out about the next one.
Maps and information can be supplied on local B&B or hotel accommodation if required.
Price includes refreshments, manual and certificate.
Reiki is ...
Reiki is an ongoing learning experience, furthering our own spirituality and healing as well helping others who ask for our assistance. It can be simply a healing tool or a way of life ...
My aim is to present Reiki as I experience it; down-to-earth and practical, yet spiritual, energetically enhancing, healing and uplifting. It does not involve giving up living in the 'real world', our material comforts or our sense of humour, wearing certain clothes, donating all our money, becoming a martyr, worship, coercing others or joining a cult.
However, what it does, and hope it will do for you, is give us another view, open doors, lift our energy and experience to a higher level, feel more positive, lead us on our path to enlightenment and give us the ability to DO something even when there would have seemed to be nothing we could do.
Can we change the world for the better with Reiki? Yes, I think it's possible, one day at a time starting with the man or woman in the mirror.
